Ph.D., M.P.H.

Completed the doctoral program at the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, The University of Tokyo, and the master’s program at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

After graduating from Gifu Pharmaceutical University, joined the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) in 2009. Served as a Deputy Director for Drug Pricing in the Economic Affairs Division, as a Deputy Director in the Pharmaceuticals  Evaluation Division, and was seconded to the Center for iPS Cell Research and Application (CiRA) at Kyoto University. Resigned from MHLW in March 2023, and will assume the current position in April 2025.

Areas of expertise include health economics, pharmaceutical affairs and drug pricing systems, and regulatory science.
